Web design using Java Applets : Home/Graphics/Java
Java is a programming language that is mainly used by larger companies that have their own server. It is used for e-commerce applications, database access and web page interactivity.
Applets tend to be small modules of Java code that have many uses.
Elmhurst Design can create Java applets for you, or find one of the many thousands of applets already on the internet. Some examples are shown below.
Scroller Applet
This applet scrolls text. You can enter the text, background colour, text colour, font size, font type, speed and URL (hypertext link) as parameters, so the applet is portable to any site.
parameters - font arial, size 14, speed - slow
|
parameters - font courier, size 18, speed - medium

Random Colours/Patterns Applet
This applet uses random numbers to paint one of three shapes in a parameterised shade/colour in a random position.
parameter green
|
parameter light
|
parameter red

Lake Applet
This is an applet I found on ZDNET. It takes an image and creates a lake effect.
