PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING FOR THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF YOUR GROUP ( These notes to be read in conjunction with notes for party leaders)

ACTIVITIES

The Centre does not organise any activities that require a licensed or certified instructor (apart from orienteering).

All the facilities on the centre are used at the discretion of the staff in charge of the group, the risks being minimal to zero.

Party leaders should make a visit prior to booking to satisfy themselves that the centre will be suitable for their group. We will be pleased to assist and advise them with their proposed programme.

CHILD PROTECTION

Our policy is consistent with current good practise in this area and meets current statutory requirements.
Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) checks are carried out on all our staff

OVERNIGHT SUPERVISION

Overnight Supervision is the responsibility of the visiting group leader
Gaveston Hall duty staff are on call 24 hrs should an emergency arise.

CENTRE DOCTOR ON CALL

FIRE PROTECTION

Fire drill (mandatory) to be practised as soon as possible after arrival.
The centre is adequately equipped for fire safety and is regularly visited by the fire officer.

RISK ASSESSMENT

This is an ongoing process. Written evidence is available on site for inspection.
All equipment is inspected regularly and is fit for its purpose, checks are available on site.

SECURITY ARRANGEMENTS

The security of our guests is a priority. Outside doors are locked at night and a duty manager is on call for emergencies. All our staff are trained to be vigilant and to challenge any unauthorised person.
