Nicolas Pepe (Ivory Coast and Lille forward) is set to be chased by a number of top European clubs but it is speculated that both Liverpool and Manchester United are the frontrunners for his signature.
The African player who is highly rated in France is having a brilliant campaign with the Ligue 1 club and according to www.express.co.uk, Pepe has admirers with several British clubs.
The paper also reports that club scouts have been captivated by the players progress this season and with the player himself wanting to instigate a move it is good news for both Liverpool and United as they hunt down the players’ signature.
The Ivorian forward has been able to score a total of 20 goals and 12 assist in 36 games in all competitions, with the player almost single-handedly dragging Lille into next season’s Champions League. United, (who have relied heavily on Marcus Rashford) could benefit from having a player like Pepe in their side, as the Red Devils have struggled for goals at certain points this season.
Players like Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial have been way below par this season and have not shown the consistency a team like Manchester United insist upon. With Solskjaer looking to bolster is team in the summer it is thought that Pepe could be one of the missing links to strengthen the squad.
