The Harry Maguire transfer saga continues to rumble on and it would seem that a £70 million offer is not enough to tempt Leicester to part company with the England defender.
The Red Devils have stepped up their interest for the Foxes’ star centre back with their rivals Manchester City also expressing an interest in the player.
Leicester Mercury have reported that United’s offer has been rejected as it does not meet Leicester’s expectation for the player.
The Foxes’ stance would be that any offer for the player would have to be in line with the £75 million that Liverpool paid for Virgil van Dijk.
Although unsure whether he is a player worthy of that amount Maguire has the potential to lead a new Man United team from the back and cement his mark in the same way as Steve Bruce and Gary Pallister did in the early 90’s.
