Ex Chelsea and Marseille striker Tony Cascarino has waded in on the ongoing saga happening at Manchester United.
Cascarino isn’t convinced Ole is the right man to take the team forward.
Talking to the papers he provided the names of four men he believes are capable of doing so and The Times reported that he said;
“The most exciting prospect in England is Eddie Howe, who delivers a great style of football at Bournemouth.
“Nuno Espirito Santo at Wolves is attack-minded and forward-thinking.
“I like Thomas Tuchel at Paris Saint-Germain. Lucien Favre’s Borussia Dortmund play the way United fans expect of their team.”
On Poch becoming next in line Cascarino said,
“I am not convinced he is a ready-made Manchester United manager.”
Solskjaer’s Manchester United lost 1-0 to Newcastle at St James’ Park on Sunday, but it was the manner of the defeat that upset fans.
The team looked devoid of ideas and managed just three shots on target against the relegation-threatened Magpies.
Solskjaer apologised to supporters after the defeat, saying:
“We have given ourselves a very, very tough task to get into top four, let alone the top six, and we need results straight away.
We’re unhappy with the results and results bring out the mood of everyone.
“I’ve got to say sorry to the fans that we’re not winning games, but that’s down to a rebuild and this is not a similar situation to Everton last year when I felt people had given up.
These boys give everything for the shirt.
Luckily for us it’s now the international break. We get time to evaluate what’s gone on over these eight games.
“We will sit down, hopefully we’ll get a few players back. It’s my responsibility.
I need to sort their heads out. Young boys lacking confidence – they need some help from experienced players and staff.”
Ole is heavily under the microscope and his next two games after the international break could make him or break him.
