Japan’s ambitious WE League aims to empower in historic first season : WomensSoccer

A few notes on watching it by the author of the article, on twiter, as the matches were geoblocked:

“A brief update on the #WELeague YT situation – I am informed that the league expected all of the Round 1 opening games to be available overseas, so this appears to be a DAZN issue. The league is aware of it and is investigating.” – [source]

a reply by Sophie Lawson:

“Always likely to be an issue with the broadcaster rather than the league, anyone who’s had to live through the different stream/broadcast deals the NWLS has had in place, should be more than familiar with such teething problems” [source]

and Orlowitz reply:

“this is true but in Japan it can absolutely be both, and I’m a little miffed b/c I’ve been having these conversations w/ league people for a while and kept trying to hammer home the importance of getting an international audience early.” [source]
