Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku will not play against Inter Milan on Saturday. He has been ruled out of the encounter which in my view is a tell tale sign that he will be joining the Serie A club this summer.
Man United are due to play InterMilan in the International Champions Cup in Singapore this weekend but the Red Devil’s boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer speaking said:
“No, he’s not fit, so he won’t be available, so that answers the second one as well.
Inter have not met United’s valuation of £75million for the player the club bought from Everton and to be honest a deal for a player of Lukaku’s scoring record should already have been wrapped up for that price.
Inter boss Antonio Conte said that Romelu Lukaku would improve his side, but admits there are factors standing in the way of him signing the striker from Manchester United (BBC).
Lukaku on the Move?
Speaking to journalists Conte said, “You know I like this player,”
“In the past when I was Chelsea’s coach [from 2016 to 2018] I tried to bring him to Chelsea.
“As I said before, I like this player and consider him an important player for us to have a good improvement but at the same there is a transfer market.
“We know very well which is our situation at the moment and we will see what happens but for now Lukaku is a United player.”
If Lukaku does go then United will be short of a forward who has the goal scoring record of Romelu. Although he hasn’t been brilliant at United his previous record speaks for himself and he maintains a very good international scoring record for his country.
United are still in the market for a central defender and Harry Maguire is still touted to make a move over from Leicester. With only three weeks until the season starts it certainly makes compelling Pre season drama.
