Liverpool will win the title is the prediction being made by the legendary ex Manchester United Manager Sir Alex Ferguson and it will be all down to the very important game coming up with United’s arch rivals Manchester City.
That is the opinion of ex Stoke City forward Jon Walters who made the statement after discussing it with ex Manchester United defender Phil Bardsley who spent time in the company of Sir Alex during the week. Bardsley told Walters that Sir Alex is of the opinion that United will take valuable points of City in their upcoming derby clash and that could mean the title being handed to their other arch enemies Liverpool.
Jon Walters has said,
“I was chatting with Phil Bardsley and I’m gonna drop a name here, he was sat with Sir Alex Ferguson,” Walters told BBC Radio 5 Live’s Football Daily podcast. “He sat with him and he thinks Liverpool are going win it. “He thinks Liverpool because he thinks United will get something out of the City game.”
Manchester City currently lie in second place and just two points behind their North West rivals. They do have a game in hand though and their goal difference is significantly higher. The experience of a manager such as Alex Ferguson who was in this position many, many times is highly significant and few would discount a bold prediction coming from the legendary Scott. One things for sure, if Sir Alex is correct the title could be going to Liverpool as early as April 24th.
