Steve Bruce is interested in signing Axel Tuanzebe from Manchester United. According to reports, Newcastle will only get their man if United manage to grab Leicester City’s Harry Maguire.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been chasing Maguire for awhile now but have not yet been able to negotiate a deal with the Foxes.

The club are standing firm and frustrating United with their valuation of the England defender being set high.

Harry Maguire Deal

BBC Sport have reported that Leicester want £90 million for the England centre-back and have already spurned the advances of a £70 million bid from United earlier in the window.

Tuanzebe, has made progress towards more first team games but a deal for Maguire would allow him to pursue opportunities elsewhere and Newcastle have made it clear of their interest with Bruce knowing him from his stint at Aston Villa last year (Daily Mail).

Bruce needs defensive reinforcement before the transfer windows ends and if a deal can be met between the two clubs then it is highly likely Maguire will be moving to The Red side of Manchester.

If Tuanzebe does go United fans will be sad to see a player who has graduated through the club ranks leave. They would no doubt like to see the player staying and given the opportunity to prove himself at Old Trafford after looking great at Villa.
