Liverpool legend and current Rangers manager has said that Scottish football is much worse than he had first thought.
According www.footballscotland.com Steven Gerrard states the quality of Scottish football is “a little worse than I thought” as he revealed his true opinion of his time in charge of Rangers.
The former England and Liverpool player discussed the empty stands seen in the Scottish top flight and how often the football philosophy of the country sees the ball being played many times in the air.
Www.footballscotland.com reports that Gerrard said:
“Certain games have been good.
“Some of the ones we’ve played in or that I’ve watched have been of a higher quality than I expected.
“But at times, I’ve been disappointed too watching certain games. The stadiums haven’t been full and when it comes to the standard, the ball has been in the air a lot”.
Steven may have not recognised just how fall from the tree the Scottish league has fallen.
Their top flight league has been dominated by Celtic for many years now and their national team have failed to qualify for a major tournament in the last twenty years.
