Harry Maguire is rumoured to be on Manchester City’s shopping list this summer as the Premier League Champions look to fill the void left by Vincent Kompany’s departure.
Leicester City would look to claim around £80 million for the player as Pep Guardiola looks to strengthen his team at the back.
While Aymeric Laporte established himself as an anchor at the back for the domestic treble winners, playingfor90 have reported that they have been linked with a host of defenders to fill the boots of club captain Vincent Kompany, who left Manchester after 11 years with the club.
It would seem that John Stones could be the player that gives way to Maguire as the England International seems to have lost his way at the club and has dipped in form for England.
Harry Maguire could be one of the transfer events of the summer and as the defender is so sought after and the player may just get his pick between Manchester clubs. Sky Sports News understands that both clubs are ready to engage in talks over a deal that would likely break the record for an English defender.
Harry Maguire is a good player but I am not sure that he is worthy of a transfer fee of £80 million. He has potential to kick on and be a world class defender but so did John Stones and his progress seems to have halted.
In my opinion Maguire should stay at Leicester and under Brendan Rogers stewardship keep learning and make more progress there.
